For the second time this year, Unipetrol organized an event called the Day of Volunteers for its employees. On November 7th and 8th, a total of 25 Unipetrol employees spent one working day in nonprofit organizations in the region. Particularly, these nonprofit organizations included the Most Regional Charity (Oblastní charita Most), Children’s Home and school canteen in Hora Svaté Kateřiny or the Krušnohoří Regeneration Foundation (nadační fond Obnova Krušnohoří).
“This year, a total of 47 Unipetrol employees took a part in the spring and autumn volunteer works. They worked a total of almost 400 hours for various nonprofit organizations,” said the General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Unipetrol Piotr Chełmiński. “We would also like to thank to those employees who participated in the collection of clothing and toys, which were consequently donated to the Most Regional Charity and the Children’s Home and in Hora Svaté Kateřiny,”he added.
It was up to the employees themselves to decide, which of the proposed projects to support. Within the frame of the Krušnohoří Regeneration Foundation, the employees assisted with cleaning of the Krušné Hory Public Center with its permanent museum exhibition devoted to the life of mountaineers in Krušné Hory hundred years ago. Some volunteers decided to help with repairs and painting of the “Distressed Family” (“Rodina v tísni”) center in Osek, which is recovering from a recent water line breakdown. In the Children’s Home and school canteen in Hora Svaté Kateřiny, Unipetrol employees assisted with the preparation of the building for painting.
It was the first year ever that Unipetrol organized the days of volunteers. Unipetrol intends to continue in its volunteer activities in the future.
